2025.01.26 15:39 ghostswifey i confessed, now what?

hey everyone. so i (15f) confessed to this guy (14m) i like, and now i’m stuck not knowing what to do. for context, we’ve known each other for like 8 months. we live in the same gated community, and we became friends because we both play basketball. we see each other a lot, and we’re very good friends.
our dynamic is flirty but also very friendly. we’re always joking around, talking about random stuff, and there’s a lot of looking at each other, smiling, laughing, and even some touching (like knees, hands, or shoulders). it feels natural, but also… not? he treats me differently than other people, he’s super sweet and attentive, and i always feel like he’s lowkey prioritizing me.
so recently, i decided to confess. i didn’t make it a big deal or anything, i just told him i like him. his reaction was… weird? he said, “oh. interesting. i kinda expected it.” and when i asked, “so…?” he smiled and said, “i’ll think about it.” like, what am i supposed to do with that??
then later, he texted me saying he likes me too—but deleted the message the next morning. so now i’m stuck in this limbo where i’m pretty sure he likes me—his actions have been giving for months—but he won’t actually say it to my face.
i don’t wanna rush him or push him into saying anything before he’s ready, but at the same time, i’m so over waiting and overthinking every little thing. should i just give him time to figure it out and tell me when he’s ready? or do i bring it up again casually next time we’re alone? i don’t wanna ruin things. help??

2025.01.26 16:27 wosoandstuff2020 ‘I’m in a really good place’: Following death of mother, Courtney Vandersloot plays with refound joy in Unrivaled league

With 36 of the greatest women’s basketball players assembled in Miami for Unrivaled’s inaugural season, no fan would be wrong in choosing a favorite.
But ask any of the players who might be the most beloved and respected for what she’s meant to the game during a well-decorated 14-year career, and none of the greats in South Beach would be wrong in showering veteran guard Courtney Vandersloot with well-deserved flowers.
Alyssa Thomas: “Sloot is … one of the best point guards to ever play the game.”
Satou Sabally: “Sloot is elite.”
Skylar Diggins-Smith: “I’ve always been a huge fan of Sloot. I’m still a huge fan of Sloot.”
Diggins-Smith isn’t alone, as most people are, both on and off the court, when “Sloot” flashes her infectious smile, shares her endearing personality or does what she does best – creates on the hardwood.
Though the diminutive Kent, Washington, native tends to be one of the smallest ballers on the court, she remains one of women’s biggest impact players in basketball.
Be it in the WNBA, overseas, or now with Unrivaled, the former Gonzaga standout’s game speaks volumes.
“We got to play against each other in college,” said Diggins-Smith, a star at Notre Dame. “I was very familiar with her game; I watched her a lot. Obviously, she played for the Chicago Sky, which was the closest (WNBA) team in South Bend, and so I paid a lot of attention to her there.
“How she approached the game, her leadership, and really for IQ, the way that she always makes players better around her. And it’s really very underrated when it comes to one of the best that we’ve had in our league. She is a capable scorer, but she always looks for her teammates and tries to get her teammates involved.”
Vandersloot has most certainly embedded herself in the fabric of women’s basketball history, climbing the ladder of the record books with 2,849 assists, second behind Seattle Storm star Sue Bird (3,234). It conceivable the seven-time WNBA assist leader can become the all-time career assist leader with two more seasons .
After enduring one of the most excruciatingly emotional years of her life in 2024, Vandersloot has been all smiles the past several weeks in Miami while preparing herself for 2025.
Roller coaster of emotionsVandersloot, 35, helped the New York Liberty open the 2024 season with a 6-2 mark by averaging 7.6 points and 5.3 assists per game but needed to step away from her career in June when her mother Jan died after a two-year battle with cancer.
Vandersloot’s loss was felt across the WNBA, as the outpouring of love for the veteran point guard streamed from every direction.
After a 3½-week hiatus, she put her uniform on and helped the Liberty capture the franchise’s first WNBA championship. Vandersloot dedicated the season to her mother.
Three months later, Vandersloot said during a recent Zoom session that she’s regained the competitive flame she found hard to ignite at different times after her mother died.

2025.01.26 07:52 memedealer22 A win that just meant more

I want to thank the #1 Auburn Men’s Basketball team for defeating #6 Tennessee tonight.
I can’t even express how much Auburn needed this win. After years of losses and letdowns, Auburn finally got it right tonight. I’m especially grateful for Johni Broome and his resilience, as well as contributions from Chad Baker-Mazar, Aiden Holloway, Denver Jones, Dylan Cardwell, and everyone else who stepped up to make this victory possible.
This game might not have the glitz of an SEC Championship or the excitement of an Elite Eight win, but it meant something to me tonight. The Auburn spirit truly showed up when it mattered.
I was lucky enough to watch the game with my mom on TV, and even she was impressed by Auburn’s hard-fought effort. Moments like this—sharing a win and the pride that comes with it—are the kind I know I’ll cherish for years to come.
Hell yeah.
War Damn Eagle.

2025.01.26 10:31 Codex-Wizard14 One year ago. Today. I started peak. *story in the description*

About a year ago, I began One Piece. I was never really into anime and the only shows I had actually “watched”(I was never really invested in them but they were cool) were Beyblade(burst and metal) and Pokémon. I tried watching more anime like Naruto but I got bored, Dragon Ball wasn’t for me, and JJK just seemed like an edgy moody series. But I kept hearing about One Piece, that it was extremely long and that I shouldn’t watch it, but then I saw things like how goofy and fun it seemed along with people talking about Gear 5 all over TikTok and it just seemed for me. It was what I needed. I was never really the most mentally stable, high school was painful and I even almost offed myself at some point. But one day, I just decided, I’ll watch One Piece. And I was addicted. I didn’t care about the length of the show cuz it put a smile on my face, it made me laugh, it made me cry and it made me happy. It had me regretting ever even thinking about taking my life. I’m glad I didn’t. It gave me my inspiration to try and become a director and try my hardest in basketball and now I’ve got a scholarship. Thank you, Eiichirō Oda. Thank you, One Piece.

2025.01.26 10:22 CLESportsReport Remember who this team actually is.

The injury bug sucks. But Let’s not lose our heads. Keep in mind what we look at when fully healthy:
Starting Lineup
PG Darius Garland
SG Donovan Mitchell
SF Max Strus
PF Evan Mobley
C Jarrett Allen
Before I get to the bench; that is the best backcourt in basketball. I know Mitch has been chucking a little too much but come on. Forget all stars. They should both be All-NBA.
Darius Garland is blossoming into everything I hoped for. He’s efficient. He can manipulate defenses to get the Cavs better shots than anyone else and it isn’t close. He’s taking more shots. He’s pretty much unguardable. This revenge tour has been too much fun.
Donovan Mitchell is who he is for a reason. 6 straight all-star selections and has made the playoffs every single year of his career. He is a proven leader. His unlimited range next to Garlands makes the Cavs offensive geometry just unfair.
Max Strus remains the best choice at the 3. He is a Jack of all trades and exceedingly dangerous and difficult to keep track of as a movement shooter when you have to worry about the core 4. I love the fit of Max in Kenny’s system.
Evan Mobley is a freak of nature 2 way player. He is one of the 5 best defensive players in the NBA. But his offense…bringing the ball up? Calling plays? Dribble hand offs as if he’s some super Draymond. That silky smooth 3pt shot? There is no 2 way player with upside quite like Evan Mobley, who remains the key to a Cavalier championship.
We know what Allen brings but he just needs to bring it every night. If Evan is a top 5 defender, JA is a Top 10 defender. A top 10 rebounder. And quite simply one of the most efficient players in basketball with that pretty 71% FG%. Such a nice fit next to these other guys. JA will probably play a little less than the other 3 depending on matchup but still 32+.
The Bench: I consider 1-9 to be our postseason rotation as things stand provided we are at full strength.
G/F Caris Levert: A Swiss Army knife type player who is among the elites at the 6th Man Role. He’s the 6th man but the 5th best player. He can shoot. He can slash. He can make plays for others. He can defend multiple positions. And he gives the Cavs more length than the other options.
G/F Isaac Okoro: The Cavs best perimeter defender. Young Player still with most untapped upside. Improved his 3pt % and attempts per 36 every year. He is needed to bring disruptive point of the attack defense 18-21mins a night. Ice and Strus make a terrific platoon.
G Ty Jerome: He can’t be ignored anymore. Insane playmaking and shooting splits. His defense is pretty lousy, but it doesn’t matter when you’re giving the offense this much spark. Roughly averages 20/7/5 per 36 on nearly 50/40/90 shooting splits. An absolute gem in the rough. At 6’5” we are seeing him get a few more minutes off the ball as a shooter. Good to see.
F/C Dean Wade: Excellent defensive chess piece for the Cavs. A legit 6’9” he spreads the floor and gives the Cavs a band-aid against longer teams.
The outskirts of the regular season rotation
F Georges Niang: Got in better shape this year and has shot the ball very well. Love his trash talk. It gets the boys goin’. It remains to be seen if he can be used in the postseason at all. For now he’s having a rock solid season off the bench.
SG Sam Merrill: Supposed to be an automatic 3pt shooter but something has been off this year. Plays very hard and has improved defensively. But he’s on the roster to make 3’s.
Young bucks
F Jaylon Tyson: Looks intriguing in limited action. Bigger bodied but it’s moreso his style. He’s got that dawg in him so to speak.
PG Craig Porter Jr.: Perfectly solid backup PG. Young and could improve. Smart player and strong floor game. His shooting has been better than expected. He’s been buried by Jerome’s sensational season.
G/F Emoni Bates: still just a pup. Really young, lots of holes in his game. But the Cavs don’t have any other 6’9” flamethrowers from deep. With Merrils struggles I’d like to see Emoni get 10-12 mins every other game.
F JT Thor: Again I am aware he’s not some secret superstar but surprised he hasn’t gotten a look yet when we’ve been so thin.
G/F Luke Travers: Also injured I guess? Shooting is behind the rest of his game so I don’t see it.
Tristan Thompson has had a few vintage moments but overall he’s washed and not usable in the playoffs. May end up cut.
I just see the talent and I see the coach we have and I know we’re going to be just fine. Can’t wait to watch a fully healthy Evan Mobley again. Just one of Ice and Levert makes a big difference. For roster additions I hope Koby does look for a cheap backup big. It wouldn’t take much to upgrade us there. Otherwise; while Cam Johnson is intriguing, I’m not sure we have the assets to get it done and I’m not sure HOW much better it would make us. Could even backfire. I don’t expect to see any major changes.
